Lithium battery safety for passenger transport and aviation.

A single lithium-ion device, a phone, a tablet, a power bank or a scooter battery, is enough to start a fire inside a cabin, a railcar or a bus. Evacuation is slow or impossible, and the first response falls to staff who are not firefighters.

Our answer is containment: enclose the device or cover it within seconds, hold back flames, ejections and smoke, and let the battery burn out under control. The equipment below is designed for that single purpose, with no technical handling and no training requirement beyond a short briefing.

Three modes of transport, one reflex

A lithium-ion device can ignite anywhere, on a plane, a bus or a train. The stakes differ from one mode to another, but the answer stays the same: contain immediately to protect people and the vehicle.

Aircraft

In flight, a lithium battery fire in the cabin is a critical emergency: confined space, altitude and no way to evacuate. Immediate containment of the device protects the crew, the passengers and the aircraft while the situation is dealt with.

Bus : Security Bag Ypiresia, sécurité lithium battery in transit

Bus

On a service bus, the fire starts right next to passengers, often in moving traffic. Containing the device quickly limits propagation and toxic smoke, and allows a safe evacuation.

Train : Security Bag Ypiresia, sécurité lithium battery in transit Train : Security Bag Ypiresia, sécurité lithium battery in transit

Train

On a train, passenger density and the length of the set make evacuation difficult. Containing a battery in thermal runaway holds back flames and pyrolysis gases long enough to bring the train to a safe stop.

Acting within seconds

Unfolded over the device, the lithium-specific fire blanket contains flames, ejections and smoke while the battery burns out. No tools, no technical handling: the action takes seconds and can be carried out by any member of the on-board staff. The blanket withstands peaks of 1000 °C and meets DIN SPEC 91489:2024-11, as well as the reaction-to-fire tests EN 13501-1:2018, EN 13823:2020+A1:2022 and EN ISO 1716:2010.
